HALO Scientific Advisory Committee (WLA)
HALO is based on an initiative of German Scientists working on Atmospheric Science
and Earth Observation. HALO is funded together by the Ministry of Science and Education,
the HGF, the MPG. This shared funding of the aircraft results in special procedure for
the funding and controlling of the aircraft operations. At present a contract for
consortium comprising main partners from the HGF, the MPG, the universities, the
ministry and others is under construction. This contract will regulate all financial,
juristic and logistical aspects of the later HALO operation.
A scientific advisory board will take care on the scientific questions to be addressed
with the HALO missions.
At present the HALO scientific advisory board comprises ten members:
